A CLACKMANNAN man, who was caught rummaging through a car parked in a driveway, has been given extra time behind bars.
Ryan Murray, 34, of Main Street, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court by video-link from prison.
He admitted that on December 21 he was found in a car in Castle Street, Clackmannan, whereby it could be inferred he was intending to steal.
Depute fiscal Sarah Smith said that the incident took place at around 9am when Murray was spotted loitering outside a family’s home.
The residents were waiting for someone to arrive and had been checking their CCTV because of that when they saw Murray.
The car owner went outside to confront Murray, shouting, “What are you doing?”
“Nothing” said Murray and quickly left.
Murray has a history of theft offences and is currently serving a sentence imposed in January.
Defence solicitor Kelly Howe said her client has “difficulties with substance misuse” and has no recollection of the incident.
Sheriff Garry Sutherland jailed Murray for two months to run consecutively to his current prison term.
