INCLUSION, equality and diversity were all celebrated at the Forth Valley Disability Sport Awards Ceremony, the first to be held since Covid.
The event, held at the Stirling Court Hotel, praised for its full accessibility, was the first achieved since before the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
More than 80 members attended for the AGM and awards ceremony, which saw 11 worthy winners celebrated for a wide array of sporting achievements.
Among the guests in attendance included former president of the Commonwealth Games Federation Dame Louise Martin, who delivered an inspiring presentation to the audience.
She was joined by Lynne Glen, head of development at Scottish Disability Sport, who also delivered a speech ahead of the ceremony.
The main event was hosted by Elaine Watterson, Stirling’s Provost, who presented the 11 winners with their awards.
Forth Valley Disability Sport also launched their new strategy for 2024-2027 which announced their vision: enhancing life chance for people with a disability across Forth Valley through sport and physical activity.
Chairperson Forbes Maginnis said: “We were delighted to have such an uplifting celebration of inclusion, equality and diversity for our TeamFVDS family.
“Working across Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling to enhance life chances for young people and adults with disabilities is a genuine privilege.
“I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone connected with Forth Valley Disability Sport.”
