THE Wasps Community Club have received a donation from the Asda Foundation to provide new kits and equipment for their young stars.

A grant of £1,001.87 was given to the club because of their efforts to improve the community for residents of all ages and abilities.

Wasp Community Club is a charity which aims to create sporting opportunities for all ages in Clackmannanshire.

The group has used the funds to purchase new tracksuits, backpacks, branded footballs and bibs for the season ahead.

Wullie McCubbin, a coach at Wasps Community Club, said: “We’re delighted to be able to fund all this new kit for the club. Our Under 13s team have particularly enjoyed wearing it already. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at Asda who has made this possible.”

The applications to the Asda Foundation were supported by dedicated Asda Alloa Community Champion, Joanna Scobie.

She said: “We are very proud to have helped each of these worthwhile charities secure a grant from the foundation which will help them continue their work to better our community. The way these groups engage the people of Alloa is of huge benefit and an inspiration to our Asda colleagues.”
