THERE has been plenty of Easter fun for youngsters in Sauchie.

They were kept entertained over the holiday with a whole host of activities in the local hall.

Arts and crafts, board games, lego and pass-the-parcel were just a snippet of the packed schedule on offer.

They also had the opportunity to get creative by making colourful and imaginative Easter bonnets.

The programme was organised by community group Sauchie Active 8.

For school-aged children, the annual event has been taking place since its set-up around 10 years ago.

Sauchie Active 8 chairperson, Sandra Gruar, said: "We do the Easter and summer programme – so we roughly get between 30 and 40 at the Easter one.

"So they go to the parks, or they have games, dancing competitions, just an assortment of everything.

"I think these kinds of events are good for all the kids because it gets them away from sitting on their Xboxes, and things like that, in the house."

The aim is to give children something different to do and they also had a few tasty snacks included in their entry.

In addition to the events during the day, around 50-60 youngsters signed up for a youth club in the evening and there was also roller-skating on the Friday.
