A BUSY Girls' Day Out at Inglewood House and Spa raised £535 for Scottish Autism.

Continuing a partnership between the two, money came from a fantastic raffle held during the event.

Last week Ewan Campbell, owner of Inglewood, and Alison Millar, wedding and events executive, handed a cheque over to Fran Miele, Scottish Autism’s corporate fundraiser.

Ewan said: "What we decided to do is have a nominated charity each year and last year decided to make it Scottish Autism and we formed a bond with them.

"It's a worthwhile charity, they've been in Clackmannanshire for forever, their headquarters are in Clackmannanshire.

"Although it is a national charity we see it as still a local charity because it's quite a big thing in this area – very deserving cause as well."

The second such event at the Alloa venue, this year's Girls' Day Out was even bigger and better than the year before.

Ladies got glammed up and enjoyed a glass of bubbly on arrival, before perusing the shopping arcade within the grand hall.

Local businesses had the opportunity to show what they have to offer, while live entertainment came from Les Byle.

A tasty Inglewood afternoon tea was enjoyed, there was an introduction to Elemis and a guest speaker from Scottish Autism.

Alison said: "The event took place on Sunday the eleventh of June at Inglewood House and Spa.

"[It was] a great opportunity to support a very worthy charity and include a lot of local businesses and a lot of local women, to invite them along to the hotel for a fantastic day.

"We all got glammed up, done a bit of shopping, had a lovely afternoon tea and some live entertainment.

"We were all up dancing in the afternoons so it was a nice lively afternoon."

The raffle on the day was made possible thanks to the generosity of Mrs Tilly’s, Trudi Todd Flowers, Flowers by Arrangement, Party People, the Dresser, Bags n Bling to name a few.

Thanks is given to those who supported the event and the ladies who donated to the cause.

Scottish Autism is dedicated to enriching the lives of people with autism and has its headquarters in Alloa.

Fran said: "We are very grateful to Inglewood House and Spa for supporting us with this event and would like to send a big thank you to all of the ladies who attended the lunch.

"Scottish Autism focuses on supporting individuals with autism through the whole life journey and enabling them to have fulfilling life experiences.

"We have lots of services locally so receiving support in Clackmannanshire is invaluable and really makes a difference to people’s lives.

"Over the past two years the team at Inglewood has helped to raise nearly £3000 for us and we can’t wait to see what their next amazing event will be."

Inglewood has a range of events lined-up over the next few months, including a Runway Fashion Extravaganza on Sunday, October 22.
