SCOTTISH actor David Hayman was in Alloa last week to promote next month"s star studded charity football match at Recreation Park for Spirit Aid.

The game on Sunday 3 May will be followed by a showpiece Hollywood-theme gala dinner in Alloa Town Hall, with a raffle and an auction.

Stars expected at the celebrity fixture include Celtic greats Neil Lennon and Tom Boyd, with ex-Holland international and Rangers player Artur Numan representing the other half of the great Glasgow divide.

Craig Brown and John 'Cowboy" McCormack, who has managed Dundee and Queen"s Park, will take charge of the two teams.

Spirit Aid was set up by Trial and Retribution star Hayman to help children in countries around the world including Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Iraq and Scotland.
