NEW exhibits are now on display in The Gallery at McFarlane Jewellers in Mill Street, as part of the latest ‘Open Exhibition’.

The doors opened on Saturday (26 July) and the exhibition showcases work by some of the gallery regulars as well as a few new exhibitors.

Gallery host Neil McFarlane said, “Thank you to the visitors and artists that were able to come along on Saturday to our ‘Meet the Artists’ afternoon, especially when there are so many other events going on. Your support is greatly appreciated.” Some of the regulars include Galyna Lee, who has a great variety of work including acrylic and pyrography, Graham Turpie and Louise Finlayson both of whom paint mainly in watercolour, and Derenz who uses mixed media.

Over 25 artists and exhibitors have in excess of 300 items on display from the traditional landscapes to woodwork, glassware and abstract.

A few of the exhibitors new to the gallery include Geoff Anderson with photography, Trish Turnbull who works with oils and Alex Reyner, oils and acrylics.

The age range of the artists is as diverse as their artwork, from Kaytlin Scott, who has just finished school and is about to head off to university, to one or two more senior members.

The exhibition is open daily (excluding Sundays and the forthcoming local holiday on 4 August) from 9am until 5pm. The exhibits will be on show until Saturday 20 September.
