Tesco colleagues and customers have been living the slogan ‘Every Little Helps’ through a collection for Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

The Alloa store has been gathering items for the maternity, neonatal and children’s units at the Larbert based hospital, in a drive that has truly taken off.

Working with charity So Precious – which is dedicated to supporting neonatal and maternity care in Forth Valley – the supermarket initially wanted to get items knitted for premature babies in the special care unit.

However, Clackmannanshire customers have taken the project to heart, with Tesco handing out many knitting patterns that come in tiny sizes, and a public collection will be held instore on Saturday 23 August.

Among the items needed are new and used (good condition) baby clothes from tiny baby to three months, such as baby grows, vests, tops and trousers.

Children’s DVDs and books, to keep siblings of special care babies entertained, are also welcome, as are tea, coffee and biscuits for the kitchen parents use.

Plain white photo frames and memory cards are also sought, to provide keepsakes for the parents whose babies sadly don’t make it, along with arts and craft materials.

Add to the collection at Tesco, on Oldbrig Road, between 10am and 4pm.
