The Gate is set to take a share of a £518,000 windfall.

The Alloa-based charity is one of 26 projects across the country that has been chosen to benefit from the Scottish Government’s support to help tackle food poverty.

Visiting The Gate’s Community Café, MSP Keith Brown said, “It is welcome news that more than £500,000 will go to organisations across Scotland that help those in food poverty on a daily basis and I am delighted that The Gate will receive funding from the scheme to help support their food bank which is providing a vital lifeline for people across Clackmannanshire on a daily basis. But it saddens me that so many rely so heavily on the services of food banks.”
