Inglewood House has officially been handed over to Ewan Campbell Homes.

The former business and conference centre is set to be transformed by the Stirling-based property developer into a hotel and spa next year.

Ceteris (Scotland) Ltd, which owned the building, says it plans to use the undisclosed cash payment to focus on its portfolio of industrial and workshop units.

The majority of Inglewood House tenants have transferred to other Ceteris properties.

Margaret Mary Rafferty, Managing Director of Ceteris, said, “Although I am sorry to see Inglewood move out of our property portfolio I am delighted at the plans that Ewan has to make great improvements in the building and bring much needed tourism visitors and jobs to Clackmannanshire.” Ms Rafferty said the decision to sell the Grade A-Listed building was down to the changing demands in the business community.

She said more firms prefer open-plan offices rather than the traditional spaces that were available at Inglewood.

The company now plans to use the money from the sale on ‘workspace developments’ within Clackmannanshire next year.

Ewan Campbell of Campbell Homes says he has “ambitious plans” to convert the building into a luxury spa hotel and restaurant.

Sarah Manson, who has been taken on as Business Development Manager of Campbell Properties, will be working with Mr Campbell to promote and market ‘Inglewood House and Spa’.

Mr Campbell said, “I’d like to thank Ceteris for looking after the building so well – but now it’s time to give this gorgeous building a complete makeover. We have ambitious plans to convert Inglewood into a luxury spa hotel and restaurant, offering private dining and corporate hospitality. While we do want to attract business from further afield, we also want the people of Clackmannanshire to know that this facility is for them too.

“When completed we will be having a number of open days that we hope will encourage local people to pop up to see the place. We need the support and custom of locals as well as visitors. I am really looking forward to the challenge, and have already recruited my first full time member of staff in Alan Fry, as our general manager.”
