A CHRISTMAS exhibition has opened in ‘The Gallery’ at G R McFarlane, Watchmaker & Jewellers, in Alloa.

It will run until Saturday 31 January and features work from a number of prominent local artists who are members of Central Arts Association.

To celebrate the launch, members of the public are invited to attend a “Meet the Artists” event on Saturday (29 November) between 1-4.30pm, where there will also be mulled wine and mince pies.

The gallery boasts of a very colourful and interesting exhibition of over 250 framed and mounted paintings, prints and photography, many of local scenes capturing the beauty of Clackmannanshire, Stirlingshire, the River Forth and surrounding areas, in all four seasons from sunrise to sunset, as well as landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, floral and beach scenes.

There are also handmade cards, bookmarks and jewellery, along with a DVD entitled ‘Life on Alloa Inch’ which is a unique story about a 100 acre island on the River Forth.

Admission is free and the exhibition is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, with two special festive openings on Sunday 14 and Sunday 21 December, hours to be confirmed.
