As part of a new, major shale gas information programme, INEOS will be delivering a presentation at Alloa Town Hall tonight (Tuesday 21 April) at 7pm.

The programme is promised to address both the benefits and issues of shale gas extraction and the controversial so-called fracking technique, which has been used in the USA and Australia.

A number of INEOS Upstream staff, including operations director Tom Pickering will be present to answer questions from the audience.

As the Advertiser reported last month, the information drive was launched in March to “dispel the myths” about fracking and local environmentalists and concerned residents who oppose unconventional forms of gas extraction blasted the energy giant.

Ahead of the “INEOS PR exercise”, from 6pm, members of the local Clacks Against Unconventional Gas Extraction (CAUGE) are staging a peaceful protest outside in the car park.

The event at 7pm is free, but registration is required due to limited space. Visit https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/community-engagement-programme-alloa-tickets-16193718849 to grab a ticket in the next two hours.

The event is expected to finish at 9pm.
