Police in Alloa have launched an investigation after a woman was raped as she made her way home after a night out.
It is understood that the 24-year-old was attacked in the woods at the Doo'cot Brae area of the town between 1 and 2am on Saturday morning.
A large section of the woods was cordoned off by police while forensic officers carried out fingertip searches, and it is believed they are following a positive line of enquiry.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Police in Forth Valley are investigating the serious sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman in the area of Doo'cot Brae, Alloa.
"The incident occurred between 1am and 2am on Saturday morning 18th July.
"Officers are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area around that time to contact Police Scotland on 101."
