Heavy rain is forecast across central Scotland tomorrow (Friday) with the potential for localised flooding.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning as an area of locally heavy rain already affecting much of England and Wales which will sweep into Scotland in the early hours of Friday morning.
Rain is likely to be both persistent and heavy at times with regular showers throughout the afternoon.
The rain will ease from the west during the evening, probably confined to eastern areas by the end of Friday, with drier, fresher weather following on Saturday, with some sunshine.
The Met Office are warning the public to be aware of a significant risk of very localised disruption to travel due to surface water flooding.
Senior MeteoGroup forecaster Julian Mayes said “A thundery area of low pressure that developed over northern Spain is spreading warm, humid air northwards.” An estimated 15 to 30 mm of rain is possible in 6 to 12 hours, with as much as 50 mm possible very locally by the end of Friday.
