POLICE have recovered more than £11,000 in alleged drug money following a series of raids across the Wee County last month.

Four men are facing supply and possession charges after cops busted their home addresses armed with drug warrants.

On Wednesday, 19 August, a 22-year-old was arrested following a raid on Ashley Terrace in Alloa.

Officers recovered cannabis with a street value of £500, along with £5,000 in cash.

Then, on Wednesday, 26 August, police attended properties on Hillside Crescent, Alloa, and Craigview, Sauchie.

And after they found valium with a value of £250 along with £4,350 in cash, a 58-year-old man was arrested and later remanded in custody on supply charges.

Police then charged a 34-year-old male following a search of a property on Ramsey Tullis Drive in Tullibody on Friday, 28 August.

Officers say an estimated £300 worth of cannabis was recovered, along with around £300 in cash.

Finally, police recovered a further £700 in cash and a small quantity of cannabis at a property on Main Street, Sauchie, on Saturday, 29 August.

A 36-year-old was subsequently charged in relation to the search.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Over the last week or so, several drugs warrants have been executed at a number of dwelling houses in the Clackmannanshire area.

“During these searches, a quantity of controlled drugs and a large quantity of cash have been recovered.

“As a result of this, several persons have been reported with one remanded in custody after their appearance at Alloa Sheriff Court.” Anyone with any information regarding suspected drug activity is urged to call Alloa police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, an Alloa man has admitted a charge of intent to supply heroin before a sheriff earlier this week.

Thomas Spiers (37) appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday, charged with possessing the class A drug with intent to supply to another.

Police raided his home on Shaftesbury Street on 10 October last year and recovered “a bag, containing another bag, which contained brown powder”.

Spiers was then interviewed by police and admitted ownership of the drugs along with scales, a sum of money and a mobile phone.

An estimated £200 of heroin was recovered along with £210 in cash.

His defence agent, Claire McCarron, said her client had become involved in the supply of the drug to feed his own habit.

Sentencing has been deferred for background reports until later this month.

Another man also appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday, and was fined £225 for possessing a small quantity of heroin.

The 42-year-old was searched at Falkirk Police Station on 17 October, 2014, and 0.03g of the drug, said to have a street value of around £10, was recovered.
