INTER-HOUSE competition
There was a reversal of fortune on the house competition last week. The winners were Erskine House with 14 points, Bruce were a close second with 13 points and Schaw were in third place with nine points. 1S1 had the highest number of completed homework pieces, while 2B1 had the highest total number of merits.
House Captain Elections
Congratulations were extended to successful house captains who were elected last week. Bruce House captains are Jamie Williams and Stephen Raby. In Erskine House we have Iqra Azad and Ryan McMillan and in Schaw House Beth Pettigrew and Clodagh Killigrew. We look forward to an exciting House programme.
Congratulations
Well done to Lisa Carruthers, May Knox, Theo Tait, Jade Young, Alanna White and Christie White who completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition at the weekend in less than perfect weather conditions.
The S1 and S2 Rugby Teams played in the Central Schools rugby competition this week and had mixed fortunes with three wins and three losses.
Prefect Training
The 50-strong team of Prefects took part in training on Wednesday afternoon, producing a profile of the characteristics of a good Prefect and signing up for the groups in which they will each play their part. Most have stated as their aim for the year that they would like to build confidence and take on more responsibility.

Tracking Report
The first tracking report of the session will be issued to all students of Friday. Any parent who does not receive the report should contact the school. The S1 parents’ evening will take place on Monday, 28 September 28, from 4.15pm. S1 students will be given appointment sheets next week.
Freshers’ Fayre
This year’s Freshers’ Fayre took place on September 10 in the assembly hall. The hall was buzzing as Students tried out the various activities on offer, including badminton, rugby and clubbercise. They also had the opportunity to have their blood pressure taken and their lung capacity measured. Many students have now signed up for activities after school and at lunchtime. They are particularly looking forward to the Great Alloa Bake-Off club.
