ALVA Academy"s Comic Relief song 'The Haggis" is topping the charts, hitting number one in the UK"s Indie Chart and fending off the likes of The Fratellis and Oasis.
Pupils from the secondary school, along with pupils from its six feeder primary schools, recorded the song and also made a video, with some of the youngsters visiting the BBC"s new headquarters at Pacific Quay in Glasgow to see the final cut being put together.
The song was written by Alva Academy"s music teachers David Clifford and Stuart Clyde after Alva Academy became a BBC Soundtown school and has also reached number 12 in the official Scottish charts.
