DOLLAR Academy Pipe Band regained the Scottish CCF Schools Championship title.
On Sunday 8 June at Merchiston Castle School the Academy’s A band came away winners while its B band placed an impressive fourth.
In addition to this overall victory, the pipers, drummers and buglers of the Clackmannanshire school placed or won first in 12 of the 15 competing categories.
There were numerous individual successes. Lucy Ferguson placed second in the Senior Piping, Tommy Henson won the Intermediate Piping and Intermediate Piping Drill and Turnout, and Finlay Cameron came first in the Junior Piping.
Joe Armstrong came second in the Senior Drumming, Rory Power placed second in the Junior Drumming, Gregor Stewart and Cameron McCall earned first and second in the Bugling Competition, and Robert Henson won the Drum Majors Competition.
Dollar Academy pipers were named as winners of the Loch Nan Eun Quaich for the Best Group of Solo Pipers. The school also won the Best Bass and Tenor Section, and Best Drum Corps overall.
