AN award-winning drama-based education programme which educates students about littering came to the Wee County last week.

Bin it! visited Alloa Academy and Dollar Academy on its tour across Clackmannanshire and the UK.

Now in its ninth year, the tour encourages young people to work together to make a lasting change to local areas and keep their environment tidy.

Developed by The Wrigley Company, in partnership with specialist education consultancy Rapport, the project targets 11-13 year-olds and is designed to explore the issues and impact of littering, helping students to understand why it is so important to take personal responsibility for correct litter disposal.

Since it began, the programme has visited 350 schools and has been seen by over 52,000 students in the UK.
