PUPILS at Alva Academy participated in the Youth and Philantrophy Initiative, which encourages students to take part in improving their communities.
Youngsters chose a worthy cause in groups, volunteered and presented to a panel of judges to convince them that their charity should receive a £3000 cash boost.
This year’s winners are Abbie Mitchell, Nicola Hunter, Ruth Harness, Kelsie-Anne Lawrie and Lauren Monteith – and their charity is The Gate, Alloa’s food bank.
