PARENTS of St Serf’s Primary School pupils joined their children for a ‘safe crossing’ initiative.

It took place over three days at St Serf’s Road and Menstrie Road, in Tullibody, where they were joined by local community PC, Leigh Allen.

Tullibody, Cambus & Glenochil Community Council and Police Scotland organised the initiative in response to reports from the parent-teacher association (PTA) and concerned members of the public, about the behaviour of pedestrians and drivers around the zebra crossing which helps get the children to and from school safely.

Acting chair of the community council, June Anderson, said: “The community council hopes that by working with the school and the road safety police officers, we can make it fun for children to learn how to cross the road safely and at the same time alleviate the concerns of our residents for the children`s safety and that of their parents.” PC Allen added: “We are delighted to be working with our community and education partners on this important matter.” Tullibody, Cambus & Glenochil Community Council meet on the last Wednesday of the month, at 7pm in Tullibody Civic Centre, and members of the public are welcome to go along and hear what is happening in the area.
