OVER 600 dancers took part in the 2015 Forth Valley Schools Dance Competition at the macrobert arts centre in Stirling.

It was held for the 12th time last Monday and Tuesday (2 and 3 March) and showcased some of the Forth Valley’s best dancing talent, with pupils developing all choreography and performances themselves.

After two evenings of intense competition, and much deliberation by the judges, Larbert High School took home both major prizes as it was named overall winner in the junior (S1 – S3) and senior (S4 – S6) sections.

Groups from the school won both categories (small and large group) in the junior competition while their schoolmates secured runner up spots in the equivalent senior categories.

A charity raffle was also held during the event, raising £1200 for this year’s chosen beneficiary, Strathcarron Hospice.
