Dollar Academy pupils celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 12 March undertaking a variety of activities linking to Julia Donaldson’s What the Ladybird Heard.
Students from P1-3, as well as staff, dressed up as characters from the book and took part in a parade at the assembly. The day was also full with another four different activities including a quiz using their iPads, the production of artwork – the youngsters also practised their drama skills.
One pupil told: “I liked using the masks to pretend to be animals in the story.” Another youngster said her favourite part was having Junior 1 students come across to read to them during the storytelling event.
Staff and pupils both had an enjoyable day at the successful event.
