Parents and pupils from the Wee County are invited to see what a Bridge of Allan school has to offer next month.

Families will have the chance to see Beaconhurst School “in action” at its annual open day on Saturday 2 May between 10am and noon, when the independent school’s pupils will be taking part in a variety of activities.

John Owen, headmaster at the 400 pupil school, as well as teachers and senior staff will be on hand to answer questions, while older students will be showing families around.

Mr Owen said: “It’s a chance for our current families to come along and experience a snapshot of the school’s daily life so they can see the activities their children are involved in first-hand.

“And anyone interested in finding out more about the school or nursery on an informal basis is also welcome to come along and see what we do.

“We’re opening the doors to the whole community and looking forward to a fun and engaging celebration of all Beaconhurst has to offer.” Activities on the day will include mountain biking, climbing, hockey, tennis, debating and science experiments alongside tours of the school.

The Junior Start Nursery will also open with youngsters enjoying face painting and baking, while parents can pop into the classrooms and chat to teachers.

Refreshments and a mini-fair will also be on offer in the school’s Cameron Hall, where visitors will have the chance to pose questions to the heads of departments.

Visitors, who are welcome to come along any time during the two hours, are asked to register their interest in advance, so they can be assigned a pupil to show them around.
