On Sunday (29 March) a spring fayre helped to raise over £4500 for pupils at Menstrie Primary School.
The fayre, which was organised by parents for the second year running, saw a great turn-out as all of the village came together at Menstrie Dumyat Centre raising funds to further develop the school’s outdoors area and playground.
Head teacher Lisanne Henderson said there was a great community atmosphere at the event, which started at noon and went on until around 2.30pm. She said: “It was a huge effort by lots of parents, businesses and many others, everybody helped in some way.
“There was a fantastic turn-out, the whole village was there and the atmosphere was lovely.” The sum of £4529 was raised and the money will benefit the children at the school. The event included a big variety of stalls, tea, coffee, hotdogs and other foods.
There was even a bouncy castle for children and a raffle with great prizes, including an iPad mini and a weekend at the Hilton Dunkeld Hotel. Prizes were donated by parents, businesses and even the pupils.
A big thanks goes to everyone who helped in any way.
