Inter-House Competition Inter-House Competition This is the last week of house competition which will be counted for the House Trophy, which will be presented at the Junior Award Ceremony on Thursday 4 June.

This week, the points were won in the following order: Erskine House in first place with eight points, Bruce in second place with seven points and Schaw in third place with three points.

It should be noted that the weekly totals form each House Group were exceptionally close this week, so the positions were gained by extremely slim numbers.

2E1 again topped the overall weekly co-operation table, while 1B2 had the highest number of merits recorded for outstanding effort.

Fantastic efforts Congratulations again to Jack Twist who played a central role in Clyde Alba’s runner-up position in the Scottish Cup final.

Jack was already highly successful in the Scottish Powerchair Football League competition and the school is delighted that he has reproduced this success in the Scottish Cup event.�Tayside Dynamos were the winners of the cup.

Congratulations also to almost all of class 1B2 on achieving Gold Level certificates in Reading Records. It is expected that the three outstanding records will be completed this week, making 1B2 the first class to have all of its members reach the required level.

P7 - S1 Transition Two of the groups have already been to Alloa Academy to complete the CSI Alloa Investigation and to complete the African–themed project in music and art.

All of the P7s will be joining the school on Tuesday for the Health and Fitness Day. Pupils have made choices for the day and there is a cooking event, dance experiences and an ultimate Frisbee competition to look forward to!

Junior Awards The Junior Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday 4 June in the school assembly hall. Teachers are currently nominating pupils for effort, contribution academic and achievement. Letters and e-mails of invitation will be sent out over the next two weeks.

SQA Exams The SQA exams will be largely completed by the end of this week and it is expected that all students to return to full attendance in school from Monday 1 June.

School Uniform Please note that, if you are buying new school uniform for next session, jeans are not suitable school uniform. Leggings are only acceptable when worn under a skirt and a change of kit is required for PE. Black shoes are required.

As of Monday 1 June, Lornshill Academy will be moving to new timings for the school day.
