Residents and community groups in Alva are being invited to the Community Council's meeting next week where they can get involved in shaping the future environment in the village.

Alva Community Council will be holding their Community Action Plan (CAPLan) meeting next Wednesday (28 January) at 7pm-9pm in the Parklands Centre, at the rear of the old Dalmore Centre. The CAPLan is an analysis of community views and it will be presented to Clackmnannanshire Council.

The Community Council say residents of Alva should “not miss out on this opportunity for community empowerment”.

Currently, the town centres of Sauchie and Tullibody are being regenerated as part of the local authority's Village and Small Town Centres Initiative, Tillicoultry will be next in line. The Community Council would urge those who would like to see Alva benefit to come along to the meeting where Alva's priorities and aspirations could be established.

The CAPlan will also provide a mandate for community based action and could assist in applications for funding and support for projects and facilities.
