A FUNDRAISING team of preschoolers from Music Bugs Stirling were singing non-stop in their classes last week.

The youngsters were busy raising money for baby charity Tommy’s during sessions held on Friday, May 13.

There was plenty of fun during the Wee County session at the Dumyat Community Centre in Menstrie, which saw tots – from newborn to those crawling or walking – taking part.

Later on that day, another Tommy’s Singathon was held in a class at The Dunblane Centre for those aged six to 24 months.

Babies and toddlers were sponsored to sing songs from around the world to fund vital research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage.

Children and their parents were also encouraged to dress up in national costumes from countries around the world.

Roslyn Dale, franchisee of Stirling Music Bugs, said: “Singathon is a fantastic initiative that encourages parents and preschoolers to sing songs from around the world and raise funds for the research work which Tommy’s spearheads into pregnancy problems.”

Jane Brewin, chief executive of Tommy’s, said: “Singathon is a great way for parents and carers to involve their little ones in a good cause.

“Tommy’s relies on the generosity and hard work of its supporters like Music Bugs to continue its pioneering research to prevent pregnancy complications.”

Music Bugs Stirling expects to have raise more than £1,000 thanks to the fundraising efforts of children and parents.
