Daredevils who plan to enter a ‘jungle’ and face their worst fears have collected over £1000 for a four-year-old girl.

As reported in the Advertiser previously, Kristine Allison (27) and Claire Gilmour (24) have organised a three-day challenge in the style of ‘I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!’ to raise funds for Falkirk tot Hollie Shaw (4).

Little Hollie, who suffers from tufting enterapathy and central incisor syndrome, was in hospital for the first 10 months of her life receiving a complex course of treatments and medications.

Doctors have said she will have a shorter life expectancy, and is now fed directly into veins in her heart.

The family are now currently in the midst of a fundraising drive to collect cash to buy a medical bed and special buggy to hold Hollie’s equipment and pumps so as she can have the freedom of a holiday.

Kristine and Claire, both from Kincardine, were moved by the young lass’ plight and pledged to help. Their ‘I’m a Hollie Fundraiser’ will take place in a ‘Scottish jungle’ between 15-17 August and will feature nine participants competing in a range of tasks for food and treats.

The group will be filmed as they sleep outdoors with the critters and cope without the luxuries and comfort of their own home.

The videos will then be uploaded online to the fundraiser’s Facebook page from 16 August, where voters can thereafter choose their jungle king and queen.

Kristine said, “We have been so touched by people and businesses donating raffle prizes for our big finale fundraiser night on 23 August, where our king and queen of the jungle will also be announced and presented with their prize.

“Our nine contestants are all eager and excited to get into our secret location, but what they don’t know is there will be a few little white lies and tricks along the way.”
