A STONE wall near Kennet was badly damaged by a motor vehicle two weeks ago and police are seeking the offending driver who failed to report the incident.
The cost of repair for the wall, which was hit by the vehicle sometime between Sunday 15 March and Monday 16 March, is thought to be over £1000.
According to police the operator of the motor vehicle failed to stop and report the incident, which happened on the B910 near the village. The identity of the driver is sought by the authorities.
Part of the vehicle’s registration plate was recovered on the road, which indicates the prefix of the offending vehicle was B.
Anyone with any knowledge of the driver or the damaged motor vehicle with a B prefix is urged to contact police.
