The Boys’ Brigade is calling on young men aged 5-18 across Clackmannanshire to join the adventure as local groups are starting up again for a new year.

Boys can take up new skills, stay active and have fun with a range of things to do every week and local groups in Alloa, Clackmannan and Tillicoultry are looking for new and old members to come along and meet new friends.

The Anchor Boys is for P1-P3 kids and meets for about an hour each week with the focus on fun and friendships through games, crafts, stories, visitors, trips away and more.

The Junior Section is for P4-P6 youngsters, programmes might add sports, music, cooking, life skills, marching, music and drama. Boys will have the chance to go on an overnight trip during the year as well as to take part in other special events and competitions against other BB groups.

The Company Section is open for the P7-S6 age group and is a great place for boys from different schools to meet and make friends as well as be challenged, learning different skills and attitudes that will help them in life. Boys can experience the outdoors, develop and awareness and responsibility in the community and more. Residential trips, camping and hiking, are common for the Company Section boys, and affordable to all.

In all sections, boys can work towards achieving badges and other awards, including the President’s Badge, the Queen’s Badge and sometimes the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, which are there to earn for the older boys.
