THE Alloa Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) has had a change in leadership.
Bishop Stan Wilford of Alva was released after serving for five and a half years, making a great and lasting impact on many people.
He and his wife Helen will be remembered for going the extra mile in their willingness to help those in need.
Iain Banks of Blairlogie was called as the new Bishop, with Derek Campbell of Clackmannan and Alan Duncan of Alloa as his counsellors.
Bishop Banks, who is married with two children, works as an archaeologist and will fit the responsibilities around his job.
He said: "I feel humbled by the responsibility placed on me to care for, counsel and lead the Latter-day Saints in this area.'"
He looks forward to the church continuing to grow and hopes the ward will be a strength to the local community.
