THE official opening of the Ben Cleuch Centre in Tillicoultry will take place on Saturday (1 December).

It opened its doors for the first time on Monday 26 November, but Tillicoultry Primary pupil Leighton McKee, will have the honour of cutting the ribbon at 10am.

It is part of Leighton's prize for coming up with the name for the new community facility.

A host of activities have been lined-up to celebrate the opening, with events taking place from 10am until 2pm, including face painting, arts and crafts, street artists and storytelling.

Council leader, councillor Gary Womersley, who will also be at the official opening, said, "The opening of the Ben Cleuch Centre will be the culmination of a lot of hard work by a great number of people."
