CLACKMANNANSHIRE residents have netted an impressive £532,000 worth of energy savings thanks to the assistance of the council’s Home Energy Advice Team.

The team aids council and private tenants and home owners, giving advice on all kinds of energy efficiency improvements, and can also help to find assistance to improve things like heating systems and insulation.

One beneficiary, Margaret Lennon, who lives in Alva, said: “The home energy advice officer was very helpful. He managed to switch my fuel tariff and save me money on my fuel bills and even got me a £140 Warm Home Discount.

“This service is invaluable and really helps vulnerable people like me save on fuel bills and to tackle our worries about energy efficiency in our homes.” Council leader Les Sharp, convener of housing, health and social care, added: “As Mrs Lennon’s case shows, the Home Energy Advice team can help save residents money. They are very knowledgeable about all the ways you can save on energy and even get assistance with bills or help to improve energy efficiency in your home.

“I’d encourage residents to get in touch with the team, and see if they can help you share in these impressive energy savings too.” You can contact the Home Energy Advice team on 01259 450000 or email fuelenergyadvice@clacks.gov.uk
