A copy of the survey has been delivered to each household in Alva and completed surveys can be dropped into any of the 10 collection boxes around town.

If you didn’t get a copy email caplaninfo@alvacommunitycouncil.org.uk with your details and a survey will be delivered to you.

Alternatively you could collect a copy from Alva Community Access Point (library) or Higglety Pigglety shop in the town centre where additional copies can be collected by households who want more than one.

The survey has been available online since 11 May - a link to the online survey can be found at www.alvacommunitycouncil.org.uk where you will also find notes of the three public meetings held since October 2014. Each Alva citizen could complete their own survey – handy if your views differ from the main householder!

Participants will be able to enter into a 50 prize draw and the winner will be announced at Alva Games on Saturday 11 July.

Alva Community Council initiated the formation of Alva Steering Group to empower the community to shape the future environment in Alva.

The group has brought together volunteers from residents and community groups to gather views of those living in the hillfoots town.

The results from the survey will go forward into a Community Action Plan that will help respond to consultations and generally help the group act in the best interests of the Alva community.

The analysis of community views will give a mandate to carry out community-based action by providing evidence of the need for action which will assist in applications for funding and support for projects and facilities.

One of the recipients of Alva Community Action Plan will be Clackmannanshire Council which has supported the steering group, and will use the plan to decide priorities when Alva town centre is upgraded as part of the ‘Village and Small Town Centre Initiative’ that has recently seen upgrades in Sauchie and Tullibody.
