Five new community councillors have been elected after the interim election for Tullibody, Cambus & Glenochil concluded.

Josephine Clark, Arthur and Elaine Duncan, John Mitchell and Janice Muir were elected unopposed and they will take up their positions with immediate effect.

Provost Tina Murphy (pictured) said: “I congratulate the new members of the community council and wish them well with the work ahead of them. Together with the four existing members this brings the total membership up to nine.

“This will allow the community council to resume the valuable work it does in representing its community, particularly at this busy time for the Tullibody Cambus & Glenochil community as work progresses on the improvements to Tron Court and in the plans to redevelop primary schools and civic centre provision in the area.” She continued: “For Clackmannanshire, this means that we continue to have an active community council representing all areas. Clackmannanshire Council recognises community councils as an important channel of communication about what matters to their community and the important role community councils have in gathering and presenting the views of the people who live and work within our communities.” The community council will come together for its forthcoming regular meeting next Wednesday (24 June) at 7pm in the Tullibody Civic Centre where members of the public are welcome to attend as observers.

The number of nominations did not exceed the amount of vacancies within the community council so the election concluded with no contest.
