A COMPULSIVE shoplifter has been jailed for just over a year for going on a seven-month crime spree.
Despite being placed on bail for his various offences, Mark Anderson continued to swipe goods from shops in Alloa town centre.
Between August last year and February this year he stole electrical goods, cans of alcohol, ready meals and even a bottle of hair oil.
Anderson (24), of Craigview, Sauchie, was locked up for four months on each charge – with two of those months attributed to him committing the crimes whilst on bail – totalling 16 months in prison.
Sheriff William Wood said, “You are a persistent thief and have cast back the opportunity given to you to engage with the service.” Anderson appeared from custody for sentence at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday after he pled guilty to stealing a quantity of foodstuffs from Iceland, Alloa, on 24 August 2013; stealing a quantity of alcohol from Asda, Alloa, on 3 September; stealing electrical items and food from Asda on 9 November 2013 and a quantity of toiletries from the supermarket on 11 November 2013; stealing a bottle of hair oil and an electronic cigarette from Semi Chem, Alloa, on 11 February 2014.
