A SERIAL thief may have to undergo unpaid work.

On Thursday (10 July) at Alloa Sheriff Court, David Futter (34) pleaded guilty to stealing a quantity of foodstuffs from Sauchie’s Co-operative store on 27 July 2013.

The 34-year-old also admitted pinching food from Asda in Alloa on 12 September 2013, sandwiches from Sauchie’s Co-operative on 18 September 2013, and a bottle of alcohol from Alloa’s Lidl on 3 January 2014.

Futter, of no fixed abode, additionally confessed to acting in an aggressive manner whilst enroute from Alloa to Stirling police station on 25 February 2014.

While being transported in a cop car, the accused shouted and swore, refused to desist, struggled with officers and repeatedly uttered threats of violence.

Sheriff David Mackie adjourned sentencing until 7 August for the completion of a criminal justice social work report to assess Futter’s suitability for a Community Payback Order.
