A man who repeatedly hit his ex’s head off a wall was deemed unsuitable for the Caledonian System – a programme for domestic abuse.
On Thursday (31 July) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Robert Jenkins (37) was sentenced to a Community Payback Order with supervision for 18 months for pursuing a woman, seizing her by the body, dragging her to the ground and repeatedly striking her head against a wall in April last year.
Jenkins, of Wood Avens in Tullibody, denied the nature of the charges but was found guilty by trial.
It was claimed that Jenkins would comply and engage with the Caledonian programme if ordered to do so, but felt it was a step too far.
Sheriff David Mackie noted the 37-year-old’s reluctance so instead ordered him to undergo supervision alongside the CPO.
