FERGUSON An alcoholic was fined £120 for mouthing off at paramedics called to help him.

On Monday (25 August) at Alloa Sheriff Court, John Ferguson (55) admitted repeatedly shouting and swearing at the ambulance workers at his home address on 14 June 2014.

Fiscal depute Susannah Hutchison told the court that the emergency services were summoned by one of Ferguson’s friends after they found the 55-year-old in an intoxicated state.

When paramedics arrived to assist, Ferguson shouted, “Get the f**k out my house.” He also branded one a “fat ba**ard”.

When eventually questioned by the police as to why he kicked off, Ferguson told the officers, “He shouldnae have been so cheeky to me in the first place.” Defending, Mr McIntyre claimed that his client, of Upper Mill Street in Tillicoultry, was an alcoholic but has since made steps to address his problem.

MIRCEA A man accused of stealing money from a Tullibody ATM may have been deported back to Romania.

On Monday (25 August) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Ionel Mircea (30) failed to show for his intermediate diet.

As reported in the Advertiser previously, Mircea maintained a plea of not guilty to using a feloniously appropriated bank card and pin to force open the lockfast automated teller machine outside the Scotmid store and appropriating £290 on 8 July last year.

The accused also denied stealing £300 from a Bank of Scotland ATM in Denny on 5 January 2013 and £300 from a Lloyds Tsb ATM, also in Denny, on 13 January 2013.

Mircea was last known to be staying in Dundrennan Road, Glasgow, but is since believed to have been deported following the outcome of other offences.

With the 30-year-old’s trial scheduled to start on 3 September, Sheriff David Mackie granted a non-appearance warrant while enquiries are carried out.

MORRISON A Paisley man has denied sending abusive txts to his ex.

On Monday (25 August) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Steven Morrison (38) maintained a plea of not guilty to calling his former partner – who lives in Cambus – derogatory names on 7 June 2014.

The 38-year-old also denies threatening to make private matters public and using menacing terms to cause fear and alarm.

Morrison, of Almond Crescent, will stand trial on 15 September.

RAMSAY A man accused of assault will have to wait until next year to fight the charge.

On Monday (25 August) at Alloa Sheriff Court, Paul Ramsay (26) maintained a plea of not guilty to pulling a woman by the leg, pushing her on the body to her injury, and smashing her mobile phone at his home address on 1 January 2014.

Ramsay, of Headtown Farm in Cambus, also denies repeatedly calling and sending nuisance texts to the same woman on 6 and 7 March 2014.

The 26-year-old was due to stand trial on 3 September, but due to the unavailability of a Crown witness the date was pushed back to 3 February 2015.
