AN ALLOA woman has been forced to pay a compensation order after stealing a mobile phone.
Jenna Burns (22), of Tay Court, admitted to stealing the phone from a neighbour’s house on 29 August 2013.
Kelly Howe, defending, told the court that Burns has had trouble with drug abuse in the past, but the worst is behind her.
She said: “There have been no further offences since the matter in question and she has turned her life around since.” Depute fiscal Marie-Claire Chaffey told the court that the complainer had written to her seeking a compensation order of £89 to recover the cost of the stolen phone.
Sheriff David Mackie accepted the suggestion and ordered Burns to make the payment at a minimum of £5 a fortnight.
