A number of women have appeared before Alloa Sheriff Court this week on assault charges.

TWO women have denied carrying out an assault against another woman at the Cairn pub in Alva in May last year.

A 35-year-old from Alva and a 36-year-old from Falkirk appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (19 January) charged with assault to injury.

It is alleged that, on 25 May 2014, they both seized the woman by the hair, pulled her to the ground, pushed her onto her back, repeatedly punched her on the head and repeatedly kicked her on the body.

They both deny the charges and are scheduled to face trial on 4 February.

However, an intermediate diet has been set for 2 February in the hope of resolving the matter out of court.

A SAUCHIE teen has denied abusing her partner during a domestic altercation last July.

The 17-year-old appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (19 January) charged with assault and acting in a threatening manner.

It is alleged that on 25 July 2014, she shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence towards her partner.

She is then accused of assaulting him by striking him with a chair and throwing other items at him.

Originally set to face trial this week, the date has been re-scheduled for 2 June.

A SAUCHIE woman has appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court charged with assault.

The 25-year-old pleaded not guilty to attacking another woman, before Sheriff Eric Brown on Monday (19 January).

The incident is said to have taken place on 7 October 2014 on Main Street, Sauchie.

It is alleged that the accused repeatedly struck her victim on the head with an unknown item, causing her to fall to the ground, before she then seized her by the hair and repeatedly struck her head to her injury.

The woman has denied the assault and will face trial on 16 June with a further intermediate diet on 8 June.

AN ALLOA woman will face trial next week after pleading not guilty to verbally abusing and assaulting her neighbour last summer.

The 23-year-old appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (19 January) charged with a threatening behaviour and assault.

The altercation is alleged to have taken place on 13 July 2014 as the accused confronted her upstairs neighbour.

She is charged with shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner and uttering abusive remarks before then pushing the man to the body and punching his head to his injury.

A trial date has been set for next Wednesday (28 January) with a further pre-hearing scheduled for the previous Monday (26 January).
