A TILLICOULTRY man has appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on stalking charges.

Douglas Cullens (31), of Walker Terrace, admitted to ‘engaging in a course of conduct’ which caused his victim to suffer fear and alarm between 1 September 2013 and 31 October 2013.

During that time he repeatedly contacted her by telephone when requested not to do so; followed her in his car; and repeatedly attended her home address, entered uninvited and refused to leave when asked.

Cullens also pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing at her in the presence of her children, when he appeared before Sheriff Eric Brown on Monday (19 January).

His defence lawyer Robert Smith told the court that his client has had issues with drugs in the past but has voluntarily sought treatment with a desistance service in Renfrewshire.

Sheriff Brown called for updated social work reports and sentence deferred until 16 February.
