AN ALLOA man has denied assaulting a police officer during an alleged altercation at a property in Dollar.
The 34-year-old pleaded not guilty by letter at a hearing at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (16 February).
He stands accused of assaulting a police officer by attempting to punch her on the head and body.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on Campbell Street on 20 December 2014.
He is also charged with threatening and abusive behaviour, along with a 20-year-old man from Dollar.
The two are alleged to have ‘gesticulated in a threatening manner’ while uttering threats of violence towards police officers.
Both men denied the charges and will appear for trial on 21 July 2015.
