A handful of child assault cases, including one attack on a three-year-old, were heard at Alloa Sheriff Court this week.

On Monday (30 March) three separate people were accused of attacking young children in the Clacks area.

The first case heard was that of an Alloa man who is charged with stamping on an 11-year-old while he lay on the ground.

The 35-year-old denied the allegation, said to have been carried out sometime between 1-30 November 2013 in Tay Court.

He is alleged to have pushed him on the body, causing him to fall to the ground before repeatedly stamping on his body to his injury.

A trial date had been set down for next Tuesday, but has since been rescheduled for 9 June.

In a separate case, a man from Tullibody was accused of assaulting his three-year-old daughter by throwing juice over her head and body.

The 61-year-old is alleged to have poured the contents of the cup over the youngster on 3 November 2014.

He also faces further charges of threatening behaviour, of smashing a microwave with a hammer, and of shouting, swearing and uttering threats.

He denied all four allegations and the case will now go to trial.

He will re-appear on 13 April for a further hearing before going to trial on 20 April.

Finally, a Sauchie woman denied assaulting her two children in the street last May.

The 31-year-old was charged with threatening behaviour and assault against both her son and daughter.

On 14 May 2014, outside Shad’s Local Store on Mansfield Avenue, she is accused of shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner towards her six-year-old son.

She is then alleged to have seized him by the clothing and dragged him into the shop by the body.

Then at nearby Schawpark Avenue on the same day, she is accused of assaulting her 11-year-old daughter by striking her on the head with her hand.

She faces a further charge of shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner, uttering abusive remarks, and utter threats of violence towards the girl.

The woman denied all charges and will re-appear on April 14 for trial.
