TWO Tillicoultry men have appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court this week charged with separate allegations of domestic violence.

In the first case, a 31-year-old faces three separate assaults against his former partner, along with further accusations of threatening behaviour and stalking.

He appeared before Sheriff Gillian Wade on Monday (20 April) and maintained his plea of not guilty to all charges.

It is alleged that on 2 December 2011 he assaulted the woman by attempting to seize a mobile ‘phone from her person and elbowing her on the head, to her injury.

He is further accused of attacking her between 3-31 December 2011 by seizing her by the body and throwing her onto the bed, to her injury.

Between 1 February 2012 and 31 March 2012, he is alleged to have kicked her on the body, to her injury.

The charge also libels that between 1 March 2013 and 31 December 2013 he did act in a threatening and abusive behaviour on the M9 near Linlithgow in that he shouted, swore, utter offensive remarks and ‘gesticulated’.

Finally, he is charged with stalking his former partner by repeatedly sending her text messages containing offensive remarks, and unwanted romantic advances and comments.

He is also alleged to have uttered threats of violence and repeatedly refused to stop when requested, before falsely claiming to Clackmannanshire Council that his former partner was committing council tax fraud.

He maintained his plea of not guilty in respect of all five allegations and his trial has been delayed until 17 June.

Another Tilly man will face trial next month over allegations of a domestic assault last year.

The 21-year-old maintained his plea of not guilty before Sheriff Wade on Monday.

He is accused of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on 25 May 2014 in that he did bang on the front door of a property, before shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner, and entering the house uninvited.

He faces another charge of damaging property by repeatedly striking a window there.

It is further alleged that he assaulted his former partner by pushing her on the body, causing her to stumble, before punching her on the head.

He also faces another charge of punching a male to the head on the same occasion.

The accused denied all charges and is due to appear for trial on 11 May.
