A SAUCHIE man stands accused of assaulting a disabled woman and exposing himself to her in an apparent hate crime.

The 56-year-old was accused of four separate offences, including two assaults, when the case was heard at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (15 June).

Though his attendance was excused, he maintained his plea of not guilty through his solicitor.

It is alleged that on 20 September 2014 on Main Street in Sauchie, he did expose himself to the woman in an act of public indecency.

The court papers also state that the Crown intend to prove his actions were motivated by a prejudice against disability.

He is further accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering derogatory remarks, again aggravated by a prejudice towards disability.

It is then alleged he assaulted a man by seizing him by the clothing and repeatedly attempting to punch him on the head before assaulting the disabled woman by seizing her by the body and punching her on the head.

The case will call again at Alloa Sheriff Court for trial on 30 June.
