AN ALLOA woman will face trial later next week on charges of repeatedly assaulting three young children over a period of six months.

The 27-year-old has pleaded not guilty to abusing the boys — the youngest of which was just four years old at the time of the alleged offences.

She appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (15 June) and is scheduled to face trial on 23 June.

It is alleged that, between 8 August 2013, and 6 February 2014, she did repeatedly attack the youngsters at a property in Clackmannan, and elsewhere.

The charges state that the accused assaulting the first complainer, aged between 10 and 11, by repeatedly striking him on the body with a hoover pole; repeatedly striking him on the head and body with shoes; repeatedly striking him on the head and body with a mop; and repeatedly punching him to the head, all to his injury.

She is also alleged to have assaulted another boy, aged eight-nine, by repeatedly striking him on the body with a hoover pole; repeatedly striking him on the body with shoes; and seizing him by the neck and holding him against a wall.

It is further alleged that she did repeatedly strike the four-year-old on the head and body; seize him by the neck; and throw him across a room.

The accused will re-appear in court this Monday, 22 June, for a further intermediate diet before the trial the next day.

AN ALLOA woman has pleaded not guilty to attacking a teenager earlier this year.

The 33-year-old denied the assault via letter and will face trial in September.

Her case was heard during a brief hearing at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (15 June).

It is alleged that the accused, while acting with a juvenile, did assault a 14-year-old boy and did repeatedly punch and kick him on the head and body, to his injury.

The offence is said to have taken place at a property on Menteith Court, Alloa, on 13 April.

A further intermediate diet has been set down for 14 September with the trial date scheduled for 29 September.

A FALKIRK man is to stand trial next month charged with “drawing a knife across” his wife’s throat in Alloa earlier this year.

The 42-year-old appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (15 June) and denied the allegation.

The accused, formerly of Alloa, is alleged to have behaved in a threatening or abusive manner on 25 January whereby he did shout, swear, utter threats and draw a knife across the throat of his wife.

A trial date has been set down for 30 June.

A SAUCHIE man will face trial later this year charged with falling asleep at the wheel and crashing his car.

The 23-year-old pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving at a hearing at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (15 June).

The accused is alleged to have fallen asleep while driving, causing him to lose control of his vehicle which then collided with a parked car, causing damage to both.

The incident is said to have taken place on Tullibody Road, Alloa, on 8 February 2015.

A trial date has been set down for 30 September with an intermediate diet on 14 September.

AN ALLOA man has appeared in court this week accused of assaulting another man in a town bookies.

The 26-year-old denied the attack when he appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (15 June).

It is alleged he did strike the complainer on the head, to his injury, in the Ladbrokes outlet in Alloa on 16 September 2014.

A trial date has been set down for 30 June.
