A TEENAGER has found himself in custody again, just weeks after his release from Polmont.

The 18-year-old was given 11 months’ detention in December last year for robbing a 14-year-old boy in the street, for alcohol theft and breaching his curfew.

He was released in May but has found himself in trouble again after less than two months back in the community.

The teen appeared from custody at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday (25 June) having been arrested the day before.

It is alleged that, on 23 June, he tried to rob the Tullibody Co-op by attempting to leave the shop without paying for a bottle of vodka.

He is also accused of assaulting a woman by pushing her on the body.

The youngster is further accused of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner while at a property on Main Street, Tullibody, on 24 June.

The charge alleges that he did repeatedly kick and punch doors and walls in the house before attempting to remove a telephone from a woman’s hand as she tried to contact police.

He is further accused of assaulting the woman’s relative by pushing on the body and of shouting, swearing, uttering threats of violence and kicking and headbutting the interior of a police vehicle travelling to Falkirk police station.

A trial date for this offence has been set down for 22 July, with a pre-trial hearing on 16 July.

The accused also has three deferred sentences, for crimes relating to theft, disorder and breaching court orders.

A sentencing diet has been set down for the day after this month’s trial.
