DOLLAR Academy’s pipe band were crowned winners of the juvenile section at this year’s RSPBA World Pipe Band Championships.
The pupils last won in 2010 and are delighted to have recaptured the title.
The school’s novice band also placed well – coming fourth in their class.
Craig Stewart, piping and drumming instructor, said, “Our pipe bands have worked exceptionally hard in preparation for the championships and we are all very pleased with the result.
“It takes a massive amount of dedication and practise by our pupils to reach this standard. To have not only our ‘A’ band regain their championship title, but our ‘B’ band coming a very creditable fourth is quite an achievement.
“Dollar’s young pipers and drummers are to be hugely congratulated upon this tremendous victory.”
